Crystal Jade Kitchen at Scotts Square

One of the weekends a few weeks back, I was craving for dim sum and knowing that everywhere would be crowded, we decided to head to Crystal Jade at Scotts Square.

Their outlet at Taka was under renovation that time, so we decided to give it a try thinking that the food should be the same since it's all Crystal Jade Kitchen.

I am an absolute fan of Crystal Jade's har gau. It's a little more pricey than other places, but it really is that good. The prawns inside are so big, and I think they actually put two not-so-big prawns inside. Like TWO! Also, some places would combine pork meat with the prawn but this was just pure prawn. The skin was so delicate, yet not too thin that it breaks easily. YOU MUST ORDER THIS.

We decided to give their egg tarts a try since we don't normally order egg tarts when we go eat dim sum, and we were surprised that it was yummy. Worth a try!

We didn't order as much dimsum dishes as we normally would cos they didn't have alot of things that we wanted. For example, they didn't have the usual chee cheong fan with char siew, and steamed pork ribs with black beans.

I was also disappointed that they didn't have shao rou/pork belly :(

In the end, we ordered a double boiled soup and mei cai kou rou to share!

Both were heavenly. I was kinda unsure of the soup when I ordered cos it had dried octopus in it, but it ended up tasting really good. Rich and sweet and it felt so wen nuan. Made me feel all cosy. I even poured some of the soup into Kaitlin's porridge that we cooked and brought out.

The mei cai kou rou was heavenly, though it did make me feel abit jelat towards the end. I guess it was too much for me, but don't take my word for it because I easily feel jelat. First few bites of it made me feel like bringing my blanket along, and taking a nap there. It was especially great eating all these piping hot and yummy dishes cos it was raining heavily outside.

Ended off our meal with desserts since they had some drink and dessert promo going on.

Service was excellent. I guess it is also because they weren't as crowded and busy, so this is definitely a go to place if you want dimsum and have kids tagging along. Do note that they may not have some usual dimsum dishes, but their standard of food certainly makes up for it.
