Review & Giveaway: Origins Nails Spa

I was recently invited by Origins Nail Spa to try out their Signature Treatment and I couldn't wait to get pampered!

The Signature Treatment ($131) includes a Classic Manicure and Pedicure and a scrub and mask made out of 100% natural ingredients. As a mom, and one who is still breastfeeding, natural always sounds good! Thus despite the distance I had to travel, I still wanted try out the treatment they offered.

Located at Bukit Batok, Origins Nails Spa is a few minutes walk from the bus interchange and MRT. I managed to easily find my way to their shop using the GPS on my phone. So that's a plus point already!

Origins Nail Spa has a counter area and also a more comfortable area with well-cushioned seats, which where I was seated! The first thing I noticed about the place was that they used a wide variety of nail polish brands besides the usual OPI and China Glaze. They also use brands like Zoya which is a brand of natural nail polish and Piggy Paint, a natural non-toxic nail polish for kids.

One of the staff started my session off with the Classic Manicure. For the scrub, I chose the Chocolate Scrub which is suppose to repair, rejuvenate and firm.

I chose to do the Milk Mask which helps to whiten, soften and repair. I particularly liked the scrub and mask. I liked how natural it was and how nice the smelt as well! The particles in the scrub weren't too coarse as well so it was very gentle on the skin, so for people with sensitive skin you don't have to worry at all.

While the manicurist was attending to me and in between all that picture snapping, I also spent most of my time there...choosing colours for my fingernails and toes! It was quite hard to choose, cos I've mostly tried all the different shades that I usually get my nails painted, like blues and bright pinks.

I finally decided to go out of my comfort zone and try new shades that I havent attempted before! For my fingernails, I chose light pink from the OPI liquid sand collection which gives off a different finish from the usual smooth and glossy ones. In the image above, that's M50.

By the time the manicurist was almost done with painting my nails, the other staff who had finished attending to another customer immediately started to work on my toes.

My feet were first given a nice soak and then the usual cleaning up of the toenails. She next removed the dead skin on the soles of my feet and then it was time for the scrub and mask. This was followed by a relaxing feet massage which was really relaxing.

I chose a light pink smooth finish nail polish which is B56 for my toenails. Here's how my fingernails and toenails look like after they were done:

While waiting for my nails to be done, I asked to see some of their nail art designs so that I could share it with you guys!

I particularly like the panda and pink floral one above! I like how they are able to do designs that cater to a wide range of women with different tastes. From the elegant and sophisticated to the more quirky and cute ones.

Overall the experience at Origins Nail Spa was a pleasant one. The only problem I had was that my bum bum was starting to ache a little from all that sitting down. My whole session lasted about two and a half hours so that's why.

During my session, the staff did not chat much with me, but I'm totally fine with that cos I prefer to just enjoy my pampering session without much chatter. It would have been nice though if they checked with my if I had any preferences. I liked how they did not try to get me to upgrade my treatment or buy any package cos I absolutely cannot stand it when staff try to do that. At certain points, they did check if everything was alright, so I was glad that they actually do care if their customers are comfortable.

Due to the fact that I had to take photos, I kind of ruined two of my nails a little. I informed the staff, and they were very nice to immediately help me fix it without getting irritated. I've had experiences where staff give a displeased look and even a "tsk", so I'm happy with their professional service.

Though it might be out of the way, I do recommend you to check out Origins Nail Spa for their natural treatments, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and are concerned about chemicals.
