Giveaway: Tickets to UnderWater World & Buffet at Island Cuisine!

We've only brought Kaitlin to the S.E.A Aquarium at RWS, and that was probably about 2 years ago. Thus, when we were invited to check out UnderWater World and catch the Dolphin and Fur Seals show I was really excited to bring Kaitlin to go check it out. Now that she is older, she's more inquisitive so I knew she would enjoy checking out the oceanarium and watching the performance would be a fun experience for her!
I had planned for us to catch the Dolphin and Fur Seals show at 11am, but we were running late and eventually took a cab down and made some last minute changes to our plan for the day.

That's us on the cab! While on the way, Kaitlin kept saying she wanted to go to see the performance show first so I told her our plan and then she went on repeating what we were going to do till we reached. And yes, there was the whole "Are we there yet?" questions as well!

We collected our tickets and just a heads up that you might spot roaming peacocks around that ticketing area outside of UWS! Before you enter UWS, there will be staff on site to help you take pictures which you can choose to purchase later on at the souvenir shop.

We checked out the touch pool first where there were stingrays and other sea animals. It was a good thing that we visited on a weekday morning as there was not much of a crowd so we didn't have a problem looking at them and feeding the fish.

We saw interesting exhibits like the seahorses and the looked at the development of the shark embryo. This was really cool cos they were actual live embryos!

We also saw sea garden eels, harlequin shrimps, pipefish, seadragons and lots of different types of turtles which were really big!

There were lots of different species of crabs too like the horseshoe crab, Japanese giant spider crab and rainbow crabs. There was also an interactive area for kids to learn more about crabs. Kaitlin enjoyed pressing the buttons and watching the different parts of the crab light up. Great way for learning!

We also found Nemo! There was a dome-shaped exhibit where kids could go under and look up at clownfish which was pretty cool so when Kaitlin went under a second time, I joined her hehe!

Then came our favourite exhibit! The jellyfish.

They were so pretty to look at! We just stood there for awhile admiring them before we went on to the Ocean Tunnel.

I remember having gone to UWS when I was a kid and the most significant memory of it was the Ocean Tunnel so I was sure that Kaitlin would enjoy it too! Kaitlin was pointing out to us the stingrays, sharks and "big fish" and even made us go back again so that we could look at each other from the tank side. So we took turns going back to the tunnel and looking at each other!

Before we left we went back to some of the exhibits earlier as Kaitlin wanted to check them out again. She fed the stingrays and told us she wanted to put her hand in the water to touch the fish. Well awhile after she actually put her hand in, she changed her mind but good start to being brave and trying new things!

We then went on to the UWS shop to view our photos that we had taken earlier on at the entrance. We opted to get magnets cos we have so many photos already and also the magnets were going at 2 for $25! Originally going at 1 for $20. So why not right? Plus Kaitlin loves to play with the magnets on the fridge so we knew she would love this!

By then it was time for lunch! We headed to Island Cuisine located just at the exit of UWS shop for our buffet lunch which had a spread of local favourites like Chicken Curry, Otah, Siew Mai, Ngoh Hiang, Mee Siam, Chicken Rice and many more. There was also ice-cream!

After lunch we made our way to the Dolphin and Fur Seals Show. Since we were slightly early, we checked out the otters that were along the way.

We caught the 2pm show and it wasn't too crowded so we managed to a get a good seat to catch the Dolphin and Fur Seals show.

It was a first time for all three of us catching the performance show so we were all pretty wow-ed by it! Kaitlin was excited for it to start and when the show started she was quietly watching. Entertaining enough for her that she didn't end up fidgeting or saying that she wanted to leave :D

We enjoyed ourselves lots at UWS, especially at the interactive zones where Kaitlin could feed the sea animals and view them at a closer proximity and at the Ocean Tunnel. Of course when comparing UWS (being older) to SEA, the latter would win but if you're searching for somewhere else to bring the kids to at Sentosa or prefer a place that's less crowded then UWS may be a better option. Our meal at Island Cuisine was pretty average considering the price. The Dolphin and Fur Seals show was a wonderful end to our trip as it was our first time watching these animals perform (abit mountain turtle there) and we're glad that we had the opportunity to spend a fun day out with the bub this June Holidays.

  8. The RWS UNDERWATER WORLD will be great attraction for a family day out. I intend to organize a 3-generation outing with my parents, my husband's parents and our 2 kids aged 9 and 7 and spent all day there!

I'm very positive it's going to be a day of bliss as we've kept fishes at home and we all love water creatures! It's a great enjoyment to watch them swim in such a huge tank and also information to teach you all you wanted to know. The huge tank with the sharks is amazing and we hope to be there for feeding times. I want my kids to learn how centers like this take care of aquatic animals especially pink Dolphins and protect them from extinction.

The adults including my husband and I will be happy sharing our day with Nemo and his friends and enjoy with the sharks! I really hope to win the 2 tickets too! Thank you HELLO LITTLE SUNSHINE & RESORTS WORLD SENTOSA ★★★★

  10. I will be bringing my 3-year-old there. He likes sea creatures, and I had brought my elder son there before. He had enjoyed watching videos of his brother and the sea creatures at Underwater World, and asked why he had not gone there.

I really hope he would be able to experience what his brother had gone through.

    Hope to win this!
