Baking with the Bosch Series 8 Ovens

I had previously wanted to blog about the Bosch's latest series of ovens but have been super busy and due to quite a few unforeseen circumstances happening of late that it took me quite some time to get down to writing this post but here it is!

We were invited down to the Bosch Experience Centre where we got to have a chance to try out using the Bosch Series 8 Ovens. Prior to that day, we were give a recipe book from which we could choose which recipes we wanted to try out and we only had to bring a few ingredients as the Bosch Experience Centre was already stocked with most basic ingredients, better yet, they had a functioning kitchen that was equipped with all kinds of kitchen tools!

As I haven't been baking for quite some time and Kaitlin was going to be our little kitchen assistant I decided that we should try baking something simple and so Chocolate Chip Brownies! Cos who doesn't like chocolate right? And I thought it would be pretty hard for brownies to go wrong.

As it was our first time using the kitchen, we did take quite some time to figure ourselves around it but managed to do so without any big issues! Also thanks to the lovely staff that was around to assist us whenever we needed help, we managed to bake our brownies :D

Even though Kaitlin isn't too familiar with baking, she was a great help! She really enjoyed herself when she was able to do certain tasks independently.

The best part of the day was of course putting in our brownie batter into the Bosch Series 8 Oven so that our brownies could be baked!

The new Bosch Series 8 Ovens come with an intuitive ring that makes cooking and baking easier! We were able to adjust the oven's settings with just a small turn of the stainless steel ring. The TFT-touch display guides users through various menu options, making the oven really easy to use for beginners likes us.

This series of ovens have a PerfectBake sensor which offers precise sensitivity and constantly measures the moisture level of the what's baking in the oven and automatically regulates the baking process. We tried out baking our brownies using the PerfectBake sensor and we didn't have to set the heating mode, duration or temperature because the oven automatically did it for us! All we had to do is select the type of dish we were cooking and enter in the weight then press 'Start'!

We didn't do any roasting that day but if you do lots of roasting at home, here's some good news! The Bosch Series 8 ovens come with a PerfectRoast meat probe that has three highly sensitive measuring points to determine the core temperature of your roast to the exact degree and second. This meat probe can also be used in the microwave and steam mode of the oven.

The ovens come with up to 15 different heating modes, including eco-friendly modes, a desiccation mode which allows you to thoroughly dry out your own fruits and also a defrosting mode. They are also equipped with either the EcoClean Direct Cleaning Aid or Pyrolytic self-cleaning function. EcoClean Direct ovens feature a special coating which works while the oven is in use to reduce dirt accumulation while the Pyrolytic cleaning function burns off grime at the touch of a button. This means you don't have to spend much time and effort cleaning your ovens after each use. Yayy for people like me who hate cleaning up the most!

So did the PerfectBake sensor work? Yes it did!

Our brownies were baked with no issues of it being undercooked or burnt. Also, our brownies had a crispy top and was moist and fluffy inside! Baking at home, I usually encounter the problem of having my bakes cooked on the outside but not totally cooked on the inside. This despite me following the ingredients and instructions clearly, and the temperature settings of the oven. That's kind of one of the reasons why I don't bake anymore as well cos my bakes don't always come out successful.

I really like that the Bosch Series 8 Ovens have the PerfectBake sensor which is able to automatically set the oven to the ideal heating mode and temperature based on what I'm baking in the oven. Admittedly, I'm one of those people that likes my things to be clean but don't like to clean, so the cleaning functions are an added plus to me.

Thank you to Bosch and Lewis from Allison+Partners for inviting us down to try out the Bosch Series 8 ovens and the opportunity to bond while baking! We enjoyed ourselves very much :) Also, thank you for the lovely baking kit for Kaitlin, she's loves it lots and can't wait to start baking with them.

  1. Aww.. Baking with Kaitlin looks so fun. I wish my kitchen is big enough for an oven that size. Maybe it is time for some remodelling... hmm...

  2. When we buy a Dutch Oven, we want to choose the best. It should be non-reactive for cooking healthy and yet be multifunctional. Metal Dutch ovens are not multi-functional -they cannot be used in the oven and they are highly reactive! Metals are innately reactive and food is a biochemical entity - the reason they leach toxins while cooking. Similarly, ceramics are laden with a variety of chemicals that contaminate food. In fact, ceramics may be good for making showpieces and bath utilities, the presence of so many chemicals makes it unfit for cooking food. best dutch ovens on amazon
