Jack The Ripper - burgers at affordable prices!

We were recently invited to a burger tasting at Jack the Ripper located at Salut Coffeeshop. Salut Coffeeshop is located at Bukit Merah, just within walking distance of IKEA Alexandra and Queensway Shopping Centre. Instead of the stalls serving usual local fare, the stalls here are run by young hawkers serving a variety of western food and Jack the Ripper is one of them!

Thanks to Kiat from Jack the Ripper, we got to try out their burgers! We ordered the Fairy Fay (now called Ripper's Classic)  and Annie (now called SoCal Guacamole) which each came with a side of fries.

The Fairy Fay/Ripper's Classic ($16) comes with an all natural beef patty, Jack's sauce, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato and onion.

The Annie/SoCal Guacamole Burger also comes with an all natural beef patty, but instead the usual burger combinations, this one has creamy-rich guacamole, jalapeno, tomato, avocado and alfafa sprouts.

Both the burger patties were juicy and moist. Probably because of that, the buns at the bottom of both our burgers got a little soggy while we were midway through our burgers. Between the two burgers, we personally preferred the Annie/SoCal Guacamole Burger. Loved the addition of the guacamole! And while at some places, the fries are sometimes neglected since it isn't the main star, Jack The Ripper's fries were better than the usual substandard fries you get at western hawker stalls.

Jack The Ripper recently launched a new and revamped menu which includes the burgers we tried, along with many other burger options! Here's a peek at their new menu:

If you're looking for a good nomming time and don't wish to splurge, Jack The Ripper's worth checking out esp if you need to get that burger fix!
